While we may be in the primetime of summer, we also all know that it won’t be too long until the kids head back to school.

That also means that our second 2017 ICD Learning Summit – Milwaukee -- is right around the corner.

Sometimes all the pieces just fall right into place.

How fitting it is that the day after we celebrate our nation's independence we are able to announce that our 2018 national conference will be held in the city that started it all ... Philadelphia!

Well, the first Learning Opportunities Week is now in the books, and I want to personally thank EVERYONE involved for such an outstanding job.

Welcome to the inaugural Learning Opportunities Week!

As you probably know, L.O.W. is an opportunity for all of us to aggressively showcase all the great things that Career Development has available for Steelworkers.

We have an exciting new initiative at ICD:  Learning Opportunities Week.  The inaugural Learning Opportunities Week, scheduled for the week of June 12, 2017, will be a chance for ICD and all of our sites across the country to promote the excellent work you do.

It doesn't seem that long ago that we wrapped up in Mobile, but since then we have been busy brainstorming the 2017 Learning Summits. And that's not fake news.

With the locations, dates and hotels all settled, the Learning Summits are now open for registration.

Last week Korey and I visited the USW/U.S. Steel – Granite City program. It was my first time visiting the program and it was a very impressive tour! I want to thank USW Local 1899 president Dan Simmons and Coordinator Marshall McElroy for taking the time out to show us around.

One of the many highlights of the 2016 ICD National Conference -- and always one of the highlights of our year -- was the drawing at random of the 10 winners of the Tino Fulimeni Memorial Scholarship.

Wow, the election, Mobile, and Thanksgiving -- I’m exhausted!

The 2016 ICD National Conference … we’ve got an app for that!

You can now, figuratively, hold the 2016 ICD National Conference in the palm of your hand.

And the winner is … USW/ArcelorMittal-I/N Tek & I/N Kote!!

If you were trying to be the first ICD program to submit your video to us for showcase at the ICD National Conference in Mobile, I have some bad news and some more bad news.

The cruise ships will be in Mobile – will you?

For the first time in five years, cruise ships will be filling up Mobile Bay the week of the 2016 ICD National Conference, and they will be just blocks away from the conference hotel at the cruise ship terminal.

Good day everyone. I hope all is well with you. I want to update you on the national conference, but first a word about layoffs.

I hope most of you got the email regarding registration for the 2016 National Conference in Mobile, Ala.

The best ideas are often stolen.

With that in mind, I’d like to make the first announcement regarding our 2016 National Conference, which will be held in Mobile, Ala., on Nov. 16-17.

Back in October, at our Kansas City Learning Summit, we held the drawing for the 2015 Tino Fulimeni Memorial Scholarship winners.

Ready for some Southern hospitality?

Welcome to the new ICD website!

A facelift has been needed for many years, and our staff has worked its collective tail off for the past 6 months or so, with a local web developer, to create, customize and deliver an attractive, user-friendly product that you all will enjoy visiting.
