Local 1357 member showcases his skills

For more than a dozen years, USW/ATIMetals-New Bedford Local Joint Committee member Shawn Bowen has been using his Career Development benefit to pursue his true passion -- woodworking and furniture making.

Bowen uses Tuition Assistance to take courses at the local vocation school in New Bedford, Mass. He also uses a combination of his own vacation time plus Tuition Assistance to attend training in the summer where he learns advanced furniture making techniques.
